Job Summary:
Works under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide treatments and procedures to patients in order to promote functional independence, decrease pain and increase mobility. Communicates to Physical Therapists the patients' progress and tolerance to treatments.
Job Functions:
Assists the Physical Therapist with implementing treatment plans designed to help patients gain functional independence.
Instructs patients and caregivers in home programs and in use of equipment, prostheses and braces.
Observes and records patients' progress in therapy and documents in the medical record.
Reports any pertinent information or changes in patient status to the Physical Therapist.
Supervises PTA students.
Assists in supervision and direction of Rehab Aides.
Working with all age ranges pediatric - adult
Required:
Associate Degree in Applied Science, Physical Therapist Assistant
Current KY PTA certification, BLS certification from American Heart Association
