Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Dean of Administration is the chief administrative officer of the College. S/he is directly responsible to the Senior Vice President and Provost of the College for the areas of accreditation and regulatory compliance, information services, safety, and physical plant operation. The Dean shall appropriately represent the College in relationships with accrediting, governmental, educational, and professional organizations of importance to the College and will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing higher education.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee the development and maintenance of administrative systems with comprehensive policies and procedures that function in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and provide efficient services to the College community.
Develop and attain short and long range operational plan and goals and objectives for administration in alignment with the College strategic plan.
Assume a leadership role in strategic planning to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support the College’s priorities.
Be a champion of institutional effectiveness by collaborating with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure institutional reporting capabilities that provide timely and relevant information for management decision-making across campus.
Advise the SVP/Provost regarding administrative matters. Participate as an active member of the Administrative Cabinet to establish institutional vision and goals, and to effectively communicate and organize to achieve those goals.
Provide leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive college-wide security and safety program. Ensure the safety of the campus in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
Coordinate the development and implementation of information sessions for the campus related to emergency management and environmental health and safety in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and membership in professional associations.
Bachelor’s degree and a master’s in business administration, public administration, health administration or other relevant field is required. Doctoral degree preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years senior higher education administrative experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
Ability to effectively lead and manage direct reports and work collaboratively with faculty, staff and administrators. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
